Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

Authors may choose MLA, APA, or Chicago style for bibliographic citation and formatting standards in their submission.

When software or other algorithms have been developed by the author in the production of a work submitted for publication to MediaTropes (e.g., generative visual art, music, or text) authors are strongly encouraged to make the source code available for others to build upon by depositing the source code in an appropriate, publicly-available, open source repository, and licensing the software under a commensurate license. While agreement to these availability terms are not mandatory for a work to be accepted, we strongly encourage sharing the knowledge.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The manuscript represents original work not previously published.
2. The manuscript is not being considered elsewhere for publication.
3. All references that reveal the identity of the author have been removed for the purposes of blind peer-review.
